Pataks Jalfrezi Paste 283g

Jalfrezi is another Indian restaurant fave and is a fantastically rich and flavoursome dish. This Patak's Jalfrezi Paste is a tantalising combination of paprika, coconut, tomato puree and coriander with authentic Indian spices. When you cook it up, you really do get a wonderfully aromatic and tasty curry, with just a bit of a kick to it.

Ingredients: Vegetable Oil, Water, Onion Powder (9%), Paprika, Cried Red and Green Peppers (6%), Salt, Coriander, Dessicated coconut (5%), Concentrated Tomato Puree (3%), Maize Starch, Sugar, Garlic, Acetic Acid, Dried Coriander Leaf, Spices (contains Mustard), Tamarind, Ginger, Lactic Acid.

Suggested Recipe: Chicken Jalfrezi:


  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Medium Onion, Sliced
  • 70g - 1/4 jar Patak's Jalfrezi Curry Paste
  • 250g Diced Chicken Breast
  • 200g Fresh or Canned Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 Medium Red or Green Pepper Sliced
  • 1 tsp Fresh Chopped Coriander Leaf (optional)
  • 100ml Water


  1. In a medium sized pan, gently fry onions in oil until golden.
  2. Stir in Patak's Jalfrezi Curry Paste, add chicken and fry until sealed.
  3. Add tomatoes, water and pepper, mix well and cover pan. Simmer on a low heat for 20mins until meat is cooked.

Serve garnished with chopped coriander leaf (optional).

Equally delicious with beef, lamb or vegetables.

For a hot Jalfrezi add a few fresh, sliced chillies during cooking.
